words from my son

     My son is 1 year and 3 months old now and speaks a lot these days.
     He calls me "CHO-CHA", his mother "CHA-CHA". When I cannot tell the difference between them, I'm always thinking that is me. It make me indescribably happy.
     He can speak other words; a foot, a leaf, a hole and a walk.
     ASHI means a foot in Japanese, he pronounces "A-CHA" with pointing his finger to my foot, his mother's or his own.
     HAPPA means a leaf in Japanese, he pronounces properly "HAPPA". He uses this word for not only a leaf but his favorite things. He likes going outside and when he wants to go outside, he points to outside and says "HAPPA!".
     A-na means a hole, he pronounces "A-NYA". He can find a tiny difference. He always picks up a tiny dust we cannot find in house. When we take a walk, he finds a car and says "BOO-BOO" ("BOO-BOO" is a common sound for babies, means a car), we are 100 meters far from it. Like this, he finds a tiny dint, hole, screw hole and says "A-NYA". Isn't it funny?
     Sanpo means taking a walk. He really likes going outside. When he is grizzling and we cannot make him calm, we say to him "let's take a walk!", he also says "A-N-PO!" and is going toward the door.
     Nowadays we can communicate by using words. I ask him, then he nods. When he wants to drink tea, he says "O-CHA".
     I can find a new thing about my son every day. It's his growth. Amazing and happy.

It's been a while.

Since I wrote here last time, there's a lot of things happen to me because it's more than a half year.
However, there's one thing I should talk about, yeah, it's about my son. He was born on July 1st, in Osaka.

At that time, I was also living in Osaka, working at home. He and his mother (my wife) were stayed at the hospital for 10 days and then came back home. It was great time to me, living with my wife and baby. It was about 10 days because I needed to go back Tokyo to work, my wife and baby to Toyama, my wife's home town. We decided to live separately for a while because of thinking about child care. It's the best way that her mother and grand mother could help her there.

Now I'm living in Tokyo, my wife and son in Toyama. Once a month I've been to Toyama during the holidays. For now, summer holidays on August and consecutive holidays this month.
I've been there last week. My son was smiling if he felt good, and trying to talk without the word (with just sound). I was happy to feel his growth. To talk to him, to see his smiling, to hear his speaking, to hold him in my arms, to make and give him milk, anything to do with him was beautiful.

I'm looking forward to see my family next month.

寒くなると布団に入った直後は冷たくて辛い。寒い時期に暖かく寝るために工夫していることはありますか？

　大阪の家には床暖房設備があってとても暖かい。単身赴任中の東京のマンションにはもちろんそんなものはなく、暖房器具といえばエアコンだけ。でも空気が乾燥するからエアコンは好きじゃないのです。
　そういうわけで最近は湯たんぽを使っています。寝る前にお湯を沸かして布団に忍ばせておく。歯磨きとかしている間に布団の中が暖まっているという寸法ですがそうはうまくいかなくて湯たんぽだけでも寒くて、寒くて眠れないのかとなかなか眠れない夜に気付く有様。そんなわけで今日は毛布を買ってきました。これで少しは暖かくなることでしょう。布団乾燥機なんかも欲しいところですが贅沢は言いません。

　『歩いて』『暗証番号』『当たり前』という順番で出てきました。

　『歩いて』
　休みを取って大阪に帰ってきているこの月曜日、平日なので相手をしてくれる人がいない（妻は仕事）ので昼からひとりで出かけることにしました。私鉄と地下鉄を乗り継いで難波に出て食事と買い物を済まし喫茶店で一息ついてから、はじめは少しだけ歩くつもりで心斎橋方面へ足を向けたのですが歩いているうちに足が止まらなくなって結局は1時間半近く歩き続けたんじゃないかと思います。難波から野田まで歩きました（途中で一駅だけ地下鉄に乗りましたが）。

　梅田から難波まで歩いたり、本町から天王寺まで歩いたこともあったなあと思い出しながら、この日のルートでは西長堀から先ははじめて歩く道でした。西長堀には大阪市立図書館があって大学の頃に何度か利用したことがありました。卒論のいくらかもここで書いたような気がする。その頃も西長堀から難波までよく歩いたような記憶がありますね。
　そのようにして長距離を歩くことがボクにもたらす良いことは、歩いている間に何か他のことを自由に考える時間が与えられることです。初めて見る景色だったり久しぶりに出会う光景であったりするものがどのようにしてかボクの意識を刺激することもあったかもしれないし、あるいはまったく関係ないことを思う場であったかもしれない。ともかくそのような時間を求めてボクは歩くのかも知れない。
　知らない道を歩くことに楽しみを感じたとしても、まったく知らない土地を歩きたいかというとあまりそうは思わない。ある程度土地勘があってでも自分の足で歩いたことはない、そのような土地にあってスタート地点とゴール地点を自分の足を使って繋げる作業に楽しみを感じているのだと思います。

　『暗証番号』
　平日、なかなか郵便局に行くことの出来ない妻と妻の妹に変わって家賃の振り込みをしようとしたのですが妻から聞いていた口座の暗証番号が違っていました。

　『当たり前』という言葉を最近使った心当たりはありませんね。

Vintage QotD: Here Comes The Bride

What was the last wedding you went to? Were you in the wedding?

this April i went to my friend's wedding party in kyoto.
he is my ex-ex-ex-co-worker, and is a friend i made since i became an adult. some years ago, i left the company and two months later he did too. i found next company in osaka, he found in tokyo. after that, sometimes we met in osaka or tokyo and had drink.

at the time of his wedding in this April, i was working in osaka and had some plans to go to tokyo. but i don't have any plans about our own marriage.
i quit the company at the end of May, i found new company in tokyo.
it was really busy in June.
we, i and my girl friend, suddenly married on my birthday, June 28. i need to move from osaka to tokyo at the beginning of July, but she will continue living in osaka because of her job.
after i moved to tokyo, we decided to move out from the house where we lived in for five years. we borrow the new house from her co-worker, and it's too large for one person so she lives with her younger sister. my wife and her sister live in osaka together, i live in tokyo alone.

anyway, it's our marriage, our life. we didn't have any marriage party. we did what we wanted to do.

What's the best present you gave this year?

i and my co-worker gave many potatoes to another co-worker for his 30th birthday.

i'm not sure but if i can/could give something good to somebody, i hope it'll be good for his/her future, whether it's material or not.

i gave a necklace to my girlfriend for Christmas. it's the best present i gave to her this year.

How many computers do you have in your house?

i use two apple powerbookG4s at office and home. my own pbg4 is older, the last one which can run os9, and new one which my company supplied for me is the last one of pbg4 history.
i use a new one at office about 10 hour a day so it's my main machine. i bring it back home at weekend so i use old one only weekday's night. but it still works well, i am writing this sentence with it.
my company also supplied for me an ibm thinkpad, i use it at home. at office, i use a sony vaio desktop with my co-worker. i set up synergy, i can control vaio using a keyboard and a mouse of pbg4 directly.
my first computer, which means the first computer i bought on my own, is apple powermac 8600. it is still with me but i haven't been using it. it's in a closet with a very fat CRT monitor.
now, i want a macbook (not pro). i've heard that in the near future apple will release a new macbook with intel core2 duo processor. if it'll be true, i'll buy it. i just want a thin and light note pc running mac osx.

What are your plans for the weekend?

my plan for this weekend is to go hiking somewhere mountain side in Osaka with my girl friend and another friend.

he is a Korean and working in Osaka, left his family (wife and son) behind his country.

so he is alone and lonely, actually he said so. we've met twice a month. he needs to study Japanese and my girl friend needs Korean (for exam) so we study about a hour and then go to drink in usual.
